Panda & Giant Buddha One Day Bus Tour

Day 1 Chengdu

Pick-up point and time: Your hotel centrally located in Chengdu between 7:00am and 8:00am

Finishing point and time: Tianfu Square in downtown area of Chengdu at around 6:30pm

Itinerary: Full day tour to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Lashan Giant Buddha (Group Bus Tour with English-speaking guide).

You will be picked up from your hotel in the downtown area between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning then start the tour.

Today we will visit the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base, which was built in 1987 on Futou Shan to imitate the wild ecological environment of pandas and the Base boasts research laboratory, animal hospital, panda cribs, playground, museum, kitchen, a swan lake. This non-profit Research and Breeding Base covers a space of 92 acres, with a green coverage of 96 percent. The Base created a perfect ecological environment for the living and breeding of pandas and other precious and rare wild animals. It bred over 20 pandas and lesser pandas, black-necked cranes, white cranes and others.

From Panda Breeding Research Base to Leshan Giant Buddha, it will cost about 2 hour' driving time.

Upon arriving in Leshan, Guide will recommend a restaurant for you to have a lunch at your own expense. After break, visit Leshan Giant Buddha, the tallest rock Buddha statue in the world and carved out of a cliff by monks in southern Sichuan province during Tang Dynasty (618–907AD). Completed in 803 AD, The largest surviving ancient Buddha stands 233 feet (71 meters) tall, and even its fingernails are as long as a human being. Now he is overlooking at the confluence of Minjiang, Dadu, and Qingyi Rivers as well as the sacred Mount Emei. It is currently listed as World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

Hike the trail along the Buddha to enjoy serene views till 16:00 before heading back to Chengdu.

Alternatively, all the tourists in the same bus reach an agreement together to take boat visiting the Giant Buddha instead of walking, at own cost.

The tour end at about 6:30pm at Tianfu Square, the largest square in downtown area of Chengdu surrounded by lots of good restaurants, tea houses, shops, and entertainment venues.
